LPN (Casual, Temporary, Permanent, Full Time)

Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Health Services Manager and Director of Nursing to meet residents’ care needs.

Education Required:

  • Successful completion of a recognized LPN course
  • Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support- CPR/Choking Adult
  • Recognized Pharmacology Course and experience in the administration of medications
  • Current registration with the NSCN
  • Alzheimer’s Disease Course preferred

Competencies:

  • LPNs will work within the NSCN Scope of Practice
  • Ability to work 8-hr and/or 12-hr shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays included)
  • Effective communication both written and verbal in English with residents, families and co-workers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of the organization
  • Possesses exemplary Customer Service skills
  • Reliable with good attendance and cheerful disposition
  • Must take initiative and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Respectful and hardworking team player
  • Demonstrate the use of proper body mechanics
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment
  • Experience in a long-term care or similar environment is considered an asset
  • Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Screening in the last 3 months is required
